Dr. Hummel’s career spans academic training, clinical leadership, and nationwide medical practice. After completing his residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center—where he was elected Administrative Chief Resident—he served as Medical Director of Anesthesiology at Citizens Memorial Hospital for nearly a decade, overseeing clinical operations, quality assurance, and provider performance across multiple surgical specialties.
His clinical expertise covers the full perioperative spectrum: general anesthesia, regional and neuraxial blocks, total joint orthopedics, spinal and epidural procedures, stents and ablations, sports medicine, OB anesthesia, ophthalmology, gastroenterology, urology, and pain management. He has also worked in specialized settings including the Chronic COVID Treatment Center and currently provides hormone replacement therapy and medical optimization services through Royal Medical Center.
